Her Excellency took this opportunity to convey to His Majesty special and warm regards from H.E Yoweri K. Museveni and the people of the Republic of Uganda.
In her address to the King, the High Commissioner emphasized how the Uganda and the Kingdom of Lesotho enjoy very cordial relations, highlighting that the two countries promote shared values through their memberships to international organizations such as the African Union, Commonwealth, and the United Nations among others.
Her Excellency further noted that she is presenting her letters of credence at a time when the two countries' bilateral relations are experiencing positive growth as shown by the reciprocal visits by officials from the two countries, on a number of strategic matters.
His Majesty King Letsie III accepted letters of credence from the Ambassador-designate of the Republic of Uganda, Her Excellency Barbara Nekesa at the Royal Palace in Maseru on Thursday.
Accepting the letters, His Majesty appealed to Ambassador Barbara Nekesa to collaborate with Lesotho so as to nurture ties of friendship that have existed for decades between the two countries.
His Majesty also noted that both Lesotho and Uganda share common membership to a number of international organisations such as the African Union (AU), The Non Aligned Movement (NAM), World Trade Organisation (WTO) and the United Nations (UN).
