On Thursday the 25th of April 2019, H.E Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda arrived in Zimbabwe to officially open the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair.

He was on arrival received and hosted to a dinner by President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa and the First Lady Mai Auxillia Mnangagwa at State House in Harare, He opined that Uganda and Zimbabwe emphasize economic cooperation through market integration to enable our people stand on their own feet.

One of the 10 strategic bottlenecks is market integration. Zimbabwe and Southern Africa at large have got a good potential to trade with East Africa, and empower our people economically using the standard gauge railway as a stimulus.

H.E further proposed that a joint commission be established with task of promoting economic cooperation between our countries.

H.E Gen.Yoweri K.Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda on Friday the 26th of April 2019 arrived in Bulawayo to preside over as chief guest at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair.

He was received at Joshua M Nkomo International Airport by his host President ED Mnangagwa and the First Lady, Vice Presidents of Zimbabwe, ministers from the Republic of Zimbabwe and officials from both Zimbabwe and Uganda.

H.E toured several stalls and exhibitions with variety of products made locally by Zimbabweans. He then noted that people back home need to invest their efforts in producing goods rather than importing, if we are to build Uganda.

He also awarded the best farmers at the exhibition, presented a trophy to Zimbabwe Police and Defense forces respectively for their excellent displays.
